When traveling on the Badger Bus it is not necessary to purchase tickets in advance.

Am I guaranteed a seat on the Badger Bus?
If you are boarding from the Depot in Madison, the Depot in Milwaukee, the Memorial Union in Madison, or the Mitchell Airport, Badger guarantees seating. If you are boarding from one of other stops, there are usually seats available, but if not, the driver will allow you to stand until a seat becomes available.

Where can I buy my ticket for the Badger Bus?
Tickets can be purchased at the Depots in Madison or Milwaukee, at the Union Travel Center on the 2nd floor of the Memorial Union, or at Coach side with the driver at Mitchell Airport. If you board from Johnson Creek, Goerkes Corners or 84th
street, you will pay the driver in EXACT change, CASH only for
the one way fare.

What form of payment do you accept for tickets?
When buying a ticket at the Depots in Madison or Milwaukee, the Union Travel Center, or Mitchell Airport, we accept Cash, Visa, or Master Card only. When you board the bus at Johnson Creek, Goerkes Corner or 84th Street, you will need to pay the driver EXACT change CASH for the one way fare only. Drivers do not make change or sell round trip tickets.

Does the Badger Bus operate on weekends and holidays?
All schedules marked as DAILY operate everyday including weekends and holidays. The schedules with asterisks above the times operate on the specific day as indicated on the schedule.

Do the buses have restrooms available?
Yes. All Badger buses are equipped with air conditioning, an on-board rest room, reclining seats with headrests, and tinted windows.

Does Badger offer Package Express service?
Yes. Badger offers shipping for packages between the Madison and Milwaukee depot only. Shipping costs are determined by the weight of the package. Click on this link for more information.

What is the number to call for fare and schedule information for the Badger Bus?
For information in the Madison area, you can call the Madison depot at 608-255-6771. For information in the Milwaukee area you can call the Milwaukee depot at 414-276-7490.

Can I buy a ticket for someone at another location?
Yes. We offer a Prepaid Ticket Order service that allows a ticket to be purchased at the Milwaukee or Madison depot and have it transferred to the other depot. Tickets can only be transferred to the Madison or Milwaukee depot. The purchaser must pay a non-refundable $10.00 service charge at the time or purchase. Buyer and recipient should allow at least 30 minutes for the transaction to be completed. Appropriate ID or password is required at time of pickup. Only the purchaser may cancel the ticket to apply for a refund if the ticket has not been picked up. Once picked up, the ticket is non-refundable.

Is smoking allowed on the Badger Bus?
No. Federal Law does not allow smoking on the Badger Bus.

Are food and drink allowed on board?
Yes. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed on board. Beverages should have a lid to prevent spills and we ask that you dispose of your waste when done with your trip.

Are radios, laptops, cell phones or electric games allowed on the Badger Bus?
Yes. Radios, laptops and other electronic items may be carried on board, provided that they do not disturb fellow passengers and that headphones are used. (Please note that external power outlets are NOT available on Badger Buses.)

Does Badger Bus offer a commuter discount program for frequent travelers?
Yes. For frequent travelers, we offer a Commuter Pass book. The Commuter Pass is a book of 10 one-way tickets that can be used in either direction from two points specified at time of purchase. Another way to use this is as 5 round trip tickets. The Commuter Pass is available for purchase from the depots in Madison or Milwaukee or the Union Travel Center at the Memorial Union.

Does Badger have a policy with regard to unruly customers?
Badger reserves the right to refuse to transport a person under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs or who refuses to comply with any lawful rule or regulations. If you witness any unruly behavior or suspect any trouble with a fellow passenger during your trip, please notify the driver.

Does Badger offer Children Fares?
Yes. Children traveling with an adult passenger paying the full adult fare may be eligible to receive discounts at the following rates: One child per adult ticket, who has not reached his or her second birthday, will be carried free when not occupying a seat to the exclusion of another passenger. Children, ages 2-11, when traveling with an adult are
eligible for tickets priced at 50 percent less than the full adult
fare, rounded up to the nearest dollar.

May children travel alone on the Badger Bus?
Children ages 8-11 may travel unaccompanied at the full adult fare. It is advised that their be a parent or guardian at both the origin and destination to assist and greet the child.

Does Badger Bus guarantee its departure and arrival times?
No. While the Badger Bus runs very close to the schedule times, it is not possible to guarantee it’s arrival times. Badger makes every effort to provide on-time service, but may be delayed by any number of factors, including weather, traffic or mechanical problems.

What are the restrictions on baggage?
With each adult ticket, customers are allowed 2 pieces of luggage to be placed in the baggage compartment and two small items as carry-on. With each child ticket, 1 piece of luggage is allowed below and 1 carry-on. Items placed below the bus cannot exceed 50 pounds and should be completely enclosed. Carry-on items must fit in the overhead racks or below their seat. Please remember to keep all valuables with you at all times.

Can I bring a bike with me on my trip?
Yes. Bikes are allowed below the bus as long as they are in a box. Due to the large size of the box, there is a $10.00 fee, payable in CASH, Visa or Master Card. Payment must be made before boarding the bus.

Can I bring an animal with me on my trip?
Yes and No. Yes - Small animals can be brought along with you on your journey BUT they must be in a carrier and they are placed in the luggage compartment below the bus. No – Animals are not allowed inside the Coach regardless if they are in a carrier or not. The only exception to animals allowed inside the bus is that the animal must be a certified service animal for passengers who need assistance.

I have purchased my ticket but decided not to travel. Am I eligible for a refund?
A customer may receive a refund for the remaining unused portion of their ticket, when applicable. Tickets purchased at the Milwaukee or Madison depot may be refunded in either location. Tickets purchased at the Union Travel Center must be refunded where purchased.

The bus was late. Am I entitled to a refund?
No. While Badger makes every effort to provide on-time service, it cannot control unexpected delays such as weather, traffic, or mechanical problems. Badger is not liable for any inconvenience or expense caused as a result of such a delay.

The bus was late and I missed a connection for another bus or an airline flight. Am I entitled to a refund?
No. Badger is not liable for the expense of connecting bus service missed as a result of a delay. However, you may wish to contact the connecting bus line or airline for their specific refund procedures.

- Is parking available at the depots in Madison or Milwaukee?
At the Madison Depot, Parking is available at the depot at a rate of $5.00 per day calculated in exact 24 hour periods. Long term parking is also available - Weekly parking is $25.00 and monthly parking is $60.00. Parking can be paid with CASH, Visa or Master Card only. At the Milwaukee depot, Parking is available thru the Impark lot across from the depot. Their cost per day is $6.25 and you can make arrangements with them by calling 1-414-273-7241.
